Recordings consist primarily of funeral songs, choir songs, dance songs, and hymns performed by women's guild groups (Mvano) from all 13 presbyteries of the Blantyre Synod of the Church of Central African Presbyterian (CCAP). Recordings also include refresher courses held at the Zomba CCAP for Mvano leaders, Mvano training courses and meetings at various local CCAPs, and excerpts from five songs broadcast by the BBC in 1999 as part of its "Outlook" radio program.
